From Derby winner to £60,000-a-time stud

Twelve months after winning the Derby before a crowd of 125,000 people at Epsom, racehorse Golden Horn is enjoying a breeding career.

The horse, ridden to victory by Frankie Dettori, now commands a fee of £60,000 a time as a stallion at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket.

"It's every breeder's dream to breed a Derby winner, and the beauty is there is only one each year," says Sam Bullard, director of stallions for stud owners Darley.
