Belfast Giants coach Steve Thornton says a number of his players have not been mentally prepared to perform at their best in recent games.
The Elite League champions slipped to fifth in the table after last weekend's back-to-back defeats by Cardiff Devils.
"It's quite clear who is giving everything out there," said the Giants coach, who is refusing to use his team's current injury crisis for their recent struggles.
"We have four players out who are pretty important players but we look for solutions not excuses."
The Giants face two more away Elite League games this weekend with Saturday's contest against Hull Stingrays followed by Sunday's encounter in Nottingham.
