Giants out to overturn first-leg deficit

The Belfast Giants will hope to overcome a 5-3 defeat in the first leg of their Challenge Cup semi-final when they face Cardiff Devils at the SSE Arena on Tuesday night.

Giants player-coach Derrick Walser says there will be "more pressure on Cardiff" for the return leg despite their two-goal advantage.

All-time record goalscorer Colin Shields also believes the deficit is retrievable if the Giants can "get the crowd behind us and put a lot of pressure on them".

"It is a 60-minute game or longer so there is no need to panic in the first five minutes," added Shields.
