Methodist College Under-14 boys secure All-Ireland title

Methodist College Belfast's Under-14 boys hockey team have won the John Waring All-Ireland Trophy - a first for the school since the trophy's inception in 2009.

The format of the competition is a five-match tournament played over the space of a day, with the cup winners and runners-up from Ulster, Munster and Leinster all challenging.

Methody recorded a hat-trick of 1-0 victories over Sullivan, Ashton and Dublin High, before beating Midleton College and St. Andrew's 2-0 in their semi-final and final respectively.

Chris Larmour, Teddy Hopkins, Ciaran Gough and Robbie Armstrong were the goal-scorers on the day.
