At the tender age of 19, Rebecca Adlington was propelled into the media spotlight after claiming two gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Great Britain's most successful female swimmer admits to BBC Sport's Nick Hope that at times she struggled with the attention which followed her achievements.
However, as Adlington explains on this weekend's British Olympic Dreams programme, she managed to overcome these difficulties with the help and support of her family in Mansfield, who try to keep her life as 'normal' as possible.
British Olympic Dreams will also profile Olympic rowing champions Andrew Hodge and Pete Reed as well as badminton's world silver medallists Chris Adcock and Imogen Bankier. It can be seen on BBC One at 1430 BST on Saturday 17 September, 1530/2230 BST on BBC News Channel, and on iPlayer for seven days after broadcast.
