John Carlos proud of black power protest at 1968 Olympics
At the Mexico City Olympics in 1968, two African American athletes - Tommie Smith and John Carlos - made a controversial political statement by bowing their heads and raising their fists on the podium in a demonstration against racial discrimination.
Despite all the problems the protest caused him and his family Carlos says he would do it "a thousand times over".
The 66-year-old adds that what happened was not about him or his family but "about humanity and society".
