Widnes scrum-half Joe Mellor tells BBC's Super League Show that he "has not looked back" since making his move to Vikings permanent in 2012.
The 23-year-old's burgeoning half-back partnership with Kevin Brown has been key to the team's strong start to the season, winning three of their opening four matches this term.
However, their 38-4 defeat against Leeds Rhinos was a costly one with Mellor suffering a dislocated shoulder, which could force him our for up to eight weeks.
Brown believes Mellor can serve as an "inspiration" for aspiring young players after he overcoming serious a knee injury with Wigan, then going out on loan and dual-registration spells before earning a two-year deal with the Vikings.
Mellor's team-mates Danny Tickle, Lloyd White and Widnes coach Denis Betts also talk about the scrum-half's growing influence at the club.
