Ulster and Ireland prop Declan Fitzpatrick will continue to battle to achieve his "full potential" after suffering a heart scare and concussions in recent seasons.
Fitzpatrick was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat last April after a game against Glasgow but was able to return to training during the summer without having to undergo any surgery.
The prop game time in recent seasons has also been reduced by a couple of concussions which led to him being out of action for prolonged periods.
"It would be easy to walk away and say: 'I've done alright. I've played a couple of games for Ireland'. For me that's not enough," Fitzpatrick told BBC Sport Northern Ireland on Tuesday ahead of this weekend's Pro12 game against the Dragons.
