Wales coach Warren Gatland reveals that 12 players are to be offered dual contracts by the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU), including unattached flanker Dan Lydiate.
The New Zealander says the contracts could be signed in the next few weeks with more offers to come.
He did not say who will be offered deals, but Dragons coach Lyn Jones has said contracts are on offer to number eight Taulupe Faletau, wing Hallam Amos and centre Tyler Morgan.
Jones' revelation suggests Wales flanker Dan Lydiate may not be returning to the Dragons.
Lydiate, 26, played for the region between 2006 and 2013 and reached an agreement to leave Racing Metro after just 17 months in France.
The Ospreys are favourites to sign him but a decision on his future has yet to be resolved.
