Martin Castrogiovanni says he paid £100,000 to leave Leicester

During an expletive-laden rant to journalists, former Leicester prop Martin Castrogiovanni says he paid out of his own money to leave the club.

Upset with the Tigers for claiming he left in 2013 for a pay rise at French club Toulon, he singled out Leicester coach Richard Cockerill for criticism.

Reacting to Castrogiovanni's outburst, Cockerill said: "Castro is a fantastic icon for this club and I have nothing but praise for him."
