Premiership wage cap: Sale boss wants tough wage cap penalties

Sale Sharks director of rugby Steve Diamond says "harsh" punishments should be imposed if clubs are found to have breached the Premiership wage cap.

Diamond believes some clubs are spending more than £2m more than the current cap, because of his knowledge of player salaries.

Next season the cap will rise by £500,000, allowing teams to pay out up to £5.5m on salaries.
