Glenn Delaney: London Irish New York game 'a great opportunity'

London Irish head of rugby operations Glenn Delaney believes taking a Premiership game to New York is a great opportunity to grow rugby union's brand globally.

The Exiles have confirmed they will play their "home" game against Saracens at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey on 12 March 2016.

It will be the first Premiership game to be staged overseas.

"For Premiership rugby to grow, it does need new markets," Delaney told BBC Sport. "If you look at Super Rugby, there's a Japanese franchise, an Argentinian franchise."
