Wales lock Alun Wyn Jones has been included on the shortlist for the World Rugby Player of the Year award, as he prepares for a possible return for Ospreys on Sunday.
The 30-year-old has been recognised for the consistency of his performances for his country in the Six Nations and at the World Cup this year.
The players on the shortlist were selected by a panel that includes world rugby greats John Eales, Agustin Pichot, Francois Pienaar, Will Greenwood, Gavin Hastings and Scott Quinnell.
If Jones wins the award he would become the second Welshman to receive the honour after 2008 recipient Shane Williams.
