Tom Coventry: London Irish head coach 'could not script' first half

London Irish head coach Tom Coventry tells BBC Radio Berkshire that he has "never been involved in a game" like his side's 45-14 defeat by Bath.

The first 40 minutes saw Irish scrum-half Brendan McKibbin sent off and two other players were sin-binned.

"You couldn't have scripted it," said Coventry. "I don't think you could come up with a set of events like that."

The 49-year-old was not despondent after the defeat, saying: "For 20 minutes I thought we looked reasonably good."
