Ulster coach Neil Doak says the Irish province's position in the second half of the Pro12 standings is not a major cause of concern at this stage of the season.
Ulster lie seventh in the table after eight rounds of fixtures, level on points with Edinburgh, their opponents at the Kingspan Stadium on Friday night.
"It is early days and we are not looking at the table at this stage. We have to make sure we get ourselves on a roll and get a few wins to help us move into contention," said Doak.
"The postponement of our first European game against Oyannax didn't allow us to build those combinations with the guys coming back from the World Cup and we have had to look at our planning with regard to that match being rearranged for January."
