Bournemouth boys take on Swiss lifesaving challenge

Four boys from Bournemouth have become the first British group to be put through their paces by the Swiss Lifesaving Association in order to try and earn a Swiss lifesaving diploma.

The group travelled to Lucerne as part of the 'Life's a Beach' initiative, a project which saw volunteer Lee Park win a £2,000 grant from the Swiss Embassy to promote skills in his local area of Boscombe.

After offering free training for 12 lifeguards and putting on the 'life's a beach' festival on 24 of July, Lee and three other lifeguards were given the opportunity to go to Switzerland and train in the river - with all four passing and collecting their diploma.
