Aaron Cook says British Open win vindicates move to quit GB setup

European Champion Aaron Cook tells BBC Sport's Nick Hope that victory over countryman Craig Brown in the -80kg British Open final in Manchester vindicates his decision to quit the GB setup.

The 20-year-old is hoping 'Team Cook' can help lead him to success at the 2012 Olympics, but used his post-fight celebration to draw attention to his opponent's plight.

Brown competed for Great Britain at the 2004 Athens Olympics, but was axed from the GB academy two years ago and has little financial support.
