Devils stay top after beating Giants

Cardiff Devils made up for Friday's 4-3 overtime defeat at Belfast Giants by beating the same opposition 3-2 in Northern Ireland on Saturday.

Trevor Hendrikx scored for the Devils in the first period with Joey Martin making it 2-0 in the second.

James Desmarais pulled one back for the hosts in the third period, but Jake Morissette made it 3-1 for Cardiff before Brandon Benedict netted Belfast's second.

The results mean the Welsh side remain top of the Elite League table after taking three points from a possible four at the weekend.
