Sochi 2014: Carina Vogt wins historic first women's Olympic ski jump gold
Germany's Carina Vogt makes history in Sochi as she becomes the first women's ski jumping Olympic champion.
Vogt's final jump in the second round scored 120.6, pipping Austria's Daniela Iraschko-Stolz who claimed silver, while Italy's Coline Mattel took the bronze.
The International Olympic Committee awarded the women Olympic status in 2011, leaving Nordic combined - which involves both ski jump and cross-country skiing - the only discipline at Sochi 2014 with no women's representation.
