Neureuther holds off Hirscher in Wengen

Germany's Felix Neureuther beats Austria's Marcel Hirscher to win the men's slalom in the Swiss resort of Wengen.

Hirscher was the favourite, after winning the last three slalom races on the men's World Cup tour and finishing fastest in the first run.

However the German made a mistake on the lower section of the course, finishing 0.21 seconds behind Neureuther, with Croatian Ivica Kostelic taking third.
