Innovation key to GB luge bid for 2018 Olympic qualification

The British Luge team hope that finding around £700,000 of private investment will help them qualify athletes for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

Self-funded USA-based Adam 'AJ' Rosen was the last British luge athlete to compete at the Winter Games - in 2006 and 2010 - but three UK-based athletes, who have all served in Afghanistan, are being funded by the army to pursue their Olympic ambitions.

The GB luge team is being backed to succeed by Olympic skeleton champion Lizzy Yarnold, who trains alongside the squad at the University of Bath - as BBC Sport's Nick Hope reports.
