Chloe Magee beat an opponent player ranked 22 places higher in the world rankings

Ulster player Chloe Magee has secured an impressive first-round win in the Yonex World Badminton Championships at Wembley Arena in London.

The Donegal woman defeated Indonesian number one Adrianti Firdasari 13-21, 24-22, 21-13.

Magee is the Irish number one and is ranked 53 in the world, 22 places lower than Firdasari.

The 22-year-old won the women's singles and mixed doubles with brother Sam at the Lithuanian International in June.
