British pair Imogen Bankier and Chris Adcock have reached the last 16 of the Japan Open in Tokyo.
The World silver medallists beat the home pairing of Noriyasu Hirata and Miyuki Maeda 21-17 25-23.
Bankier and Adcock defeated the same duo in the first round of the China Masters last week.
They are now likely to face the Thai duo of Sudket Prapakamol and Saralee Thoungthongkam, who should beat the Koreans Ko Sung Hyun and Eom Hye Won.
However, Britain's other two contenders for Olympic mixed doubles qualification suffered first round exits.
Scotland's Robert Blair and England's Gabby White failed to convert two match points before eventually losing to Chinese qualifiers Hong Wei and Pan Pan 22-24 23-21 21-17.
And English pair Nathan Robertson and Jenny Wallwork, who also lost out at the first hurdle in China, were beaten by second seeds Tantowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir of Indonesia.
