Imogen Bankier and Chris Adcock have moved ahead of Nathan Robertson and Jenny Wallwork in badminton's mixed doubles rankings and the race for 2012.

Bankier and Adcock have risen from 15th to a career-best 11th in the latest world rankings, while Robertson and Wallwork have fallen from 11th to 17th.

Robert Blair and Gabby White remain at number 20 in the standings.

Unless two British pairs are in the top eight by the end of May, only one of them will qualify for the Olympics.

World silver medallists Bankier of Scotland and England's Adcock lost 23-21 21-19 to second seeds Xu Chen and Ma Jin in the second round of the French Open in Paris, but English duo Robertson and Wallwork had already fallen in round one.

Scotland's Blair and England's White faced Yoo Yeon Seong and Jang Ye Na of Korea in the last match of the second round but went down 21-15 21-19.

Meanwhile, the English National Badminton Championships, scheduled for 3-5 February, have been switched from the Manchester Velodrome to the Bolton Arena.
