England's Rajiv Ouseph wins men's singles at Irish Championships

England's Rajiv Ouseph and Taiwan's Hsiao Ma Pai won the singles finals at the Yonex Irish International Championships in Lisburn on Sunday.

Ouseph beat Poland's Przemysla Wacha in the men's final after the Pole retired.

Hsiao Ma Pai beat Spain's Carolina Marin 12-21 21-19 21-7 in the women's final at the National Badminton Centre.

England's Marcus Ellis and Heather Olver won the mixed doubles with Poland Adam Cwalina and Michal Logosz's clinching the men's doubles.

Ellis and Olver beat Holland's Dave Khodabux and Selena Piek 21-19 21-17 in the mixed final with Cwalina and Logosz defeating England's Marcus Ellis and Peter Mills 21-15 21-15 in the men's doubles decider.

Malaysian pair Hui Urn Ng and Hui Lin Ng defeated England's Heather Olver and Marin Agathangelou in the women's doubles final 14-21 21-16 21-11.

Although there were no Irish players in action in the finals the tournament was a success for home number one Chloe Magee.

The Donegal woman secured her Olympic qualification for London 2012 by reaching the quarter finals in the women's singles.

Donegal woman Magee put up a brave fight against France's top seed Hongyan Pi before losing 21-11 15-21 21-17 in the last eight.
