Donegal's Chloe Magee lost her second round match at the European Badminton Championships in Sweden on Wednesday.
The Irish number one, who has already qualified for the London 2012 Olympics, was defeated 25-23, 21-6 by Natalia Perminova of Russia.
Magee had beaten Estonia's Laura Vana 21-9, 2-19 in her opening match.
Dubliner Scott Evans lost to Ukranian Dmylov Zavadsky in the first round and his hopes of qualification for the Olympics remains in the balance.
He now needs a good finish at the Portuguese Open to keep his Olympic qualification on track.
