Badminton: England lose to China in Uber Cup quarter-final

England's women are out of the Uber Cup in Delhi after a 3-0 loss in the quarter-finals at the hands of defending champions, China.
Fontaine Chapman, 24, lost the opening singles 21-15 21-9 against Olympic champion Lu Xuerui, while Gabby Adcock and Lauren Smith were defeated 22-20 21-10 by world number two pair Bao Yixin and Tang Jianhua.
England's campaign was brought to an end when Sarah Walker lost to Wang Shixian 21-7 21-13.
"Overall it's been an excellent week with many good performances and the girls have shown a step up in level for sure," said team leader Pete Jeffery.
"It's now all our jobs to build on this week and continue to improve the level in the build-up for an important summer ahead."
