Leicester Riders head coach Rob Paternostro believes latest signing John Griffin will be a big success.
Griffin 25, graduated from Bucknell University in 2008 after playing every game in a four-year college career.
Paternostro said: "John comes from a high-pedigree college programme, and is a guy who can hit the big shots."
The guard starred for Crailsheim Proveo Merlins in Germany in his first year as a professional but has since suffered with injuries.
Paternostro added: "He is also a winner having taking his team to the Pro B title and promotion in Germany, and being selected player of the year in that League is a testament to his skills and maturity.
"That bit of experience will help him in the BBL, and like a number of players in this Riders team I like his hunger and in particular, his versatility."
Griffin missed almost the entire 2009-10 season with a knee injury, before briefly moving to Inter Bratislava and then joining the backroom staff at the Indiana Pacers last season
Paternostro added: "He did lose a full season to a very serious injury but I am not concerned. I think he will be coming to the Riders fit, ready and with something to prove. He looks my kind of player."
