LA Lakers forward Ron Artest could play for the Cheshire Jets next season.
The potential signing of Artest follows a dispute that has seen the cancellation of the 2011/12 NBA season.
Jets director Peter Hawkins told the club's website: "To have an NBA superstar considering coming to the BBL is massive news for our sport.
"Financially we have nothing to offer him, but it would be so significant for UK basketball we have offered him a stake in the club and a lot of love."
With NBA players and owners still failing to reach an agreement to settle the labour dispute, other league stars have also moved to Europe.
New Jersey Nets guard Deron Williams agreed to play for Besiktas in Turkey and another star, Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder, is also said to be in negotiations with the Turkish club.
With no end to the lockout in sight, it is expected that more and more NBA players will move to Europe, including superstars such as the Lakers' Kobe Bryant, who has been linked with several moves across Europe.
