Leicester Riders have signed Nottingham-born Great Britain Under-20 international forward Jamell Anderson.
The 21-year, who was with Essex Pirates last season, joins as part of a link-up with Loughborough Basketball programme.
Anderson, who will start a two-year scholarship, said all aspects of the deal appealed to him.
"I am mega excited. I want to improve my game but also improve my life chances so the hook up with Loughborough is ideal," he said.
"I will be doing a sports management and science degree which is of great interest to me.
"But I particularly want to mature as a player - the GB coaches have been very encouraging, and obviously I have my sights set of the senior men's squad, but I will have to work very hard to get there.
"I am really looking forward to working with Rob Paternostro. He brings a lot of enthusiasm to the game, and I am sure he can help me improve."
Riders head coach Paternostro said: "Jamell is a player with a lot of potential and he can really add a lot to our squad.
"He also has BBL experience, plays very good defence, has a lot of energy, and so I believe his potential for the Riders this season is enormous."
