Middlesbrough Lions sign utility player Papis Samb

Samb played in two friendlies for the Lions before signing a deal

Middlesbrough Lions have signed Italian utility player Papis Samb after a successful two-week trial.

The 31-year-old impressed the Teesside club in friendlies with Hallam Arrows and British Basketball League newcomers Durham Wildcats.

"I have a very good feeling. After Switzerland last season, I wanted a new challenge," Samb said.

"I am excited about the potential of Middlesbrough Lions, the players are of good quality and good people."

Samb added: "I like everything about the club. The fans are very good and close to the players which is nice."
