Durham Wildcats have signed forward Mario Flaherty to their roster prior to the start of their debut British Basketball League season.
The 23-year-old has been playing professional basketball in New Zealand, after an impressive spell in the US college ranks at Houston Baptist.
"His experience playing in New Zealand will have done him a lot of good," said Wildcats boss Dave Elderkin.
"I am sure that he will bring something a bit different with him."
California-born Flaherty joined Taranaki Mountainairs in February and joins fellow imports Mike Capocci and Ralph Bucci at Durham.
Wildcats open their campaign with the visit of Newcastle Eagles to Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre on Saturday, 1 October.
