Gerald Robinson has returned to Plymouth Raiders, five years after the 6ft 9in forward left the club.

The 29-year-old, who has dual American and Dutch citizenship, is the sixth player to join the club's roster since the end of last season.

He has since played in Germany, Cyprus, the Netherlands and Israel.

After initially joining the Cheshire Phoenix last season he was injured and left the club, moving to Hottur in Iceland after regaining his fitness.

"I'm excited about coming back to play for the Raiders after being away for the last five seasons playing throughout Europe," said Robinson.

"I look forward to bringing my experience and leadership and getting back on the court in green in front of the Raider fans."

Robinson follows Kris Douse, Brent Benson, Josh Wilcher, Nick George and Louis Sayers in committing themselves to the club for the 2014-15 British Basketball League campaign.

"His size, his ability to shoot the three and his track record for rebounding at a very good European level made him a must for me," head coach Jay Marriott said.

"Having been a former team-mate of mine, we have talked often about working together again. It almost happened last season, but we both agreed that during a rebuild it wasn't the right time.

"At this point, I feel Gerald brings the experience I feel we need to be challenging the way our fans deserve."
