Rio Games: Draymond Green has pre-trial moved for Olympics
USA basketball star Draymond Green has had his pre-trial hearing moved forward to avoid it clashing with the Olympics.
Golden State Warriors player Green, 26, is accused of striking a University of Michigan American football player at a restaurant at the weekend.
Green was arrested on Sunday and charged with misdemeanour assault on Monday.
The hearing has been moved forward from 4 August, the day before the Games start, to 21 July.
Green's lawyer said that publicity surrounding the case could affect Green's performance and his Olympic travel schedule would make it hard for him to stay in touch with the court and his attorney.
