Guernsey's Alison Merrien in fifth place in Hong Kong

Guernsey's Alison Merrien lies in fifth place at the World Champion of Champions bowls in Hong Kong.

She beat Australian champion Riina Bradbrook 8-5, 7-10, 2-1 to halt a run of three successive group defeats.

Merrien is due to play Chinese champion Yu Xiao Yan and Scotland's Caroline Brown on Thursday.
