Scottish International: Champion Paul Foster reaches semi-finals

Paul Foster is the Scottish Open champion

Top seed Paul Foster kept home hopes alive by reaching the semi-finals of the Scottish International Open.

The defending champion defeated unseeded compatriot Wayne Hogg 7-4 6-5 in Perth.

Foster now faces Greg Harlow, the Englishman seeded eighth who defeated another Scottish qualifier, Graeme Sloan, 12-3 9-5, on Friday.

The other semi-final is between 10th-seeded Englishman Nicky Brett and Jason Greenslade, the Welshman seeded 13.

Brett overcame Scotland's sixth seed and five-time world champion, Alex Marshall, after a tie-break, 8-7 4-7 2-0.

Greenslade also caused an upset by defeating third seed Robert Paxton of England 12-6 5-5.
