Carl Frampton could fight on the undercard of a St Patrick's Day bill at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The Belfast boxer is being lined up for a place on the undercard of Matthew Macklin's world title fight with WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez.

Frampton could yet defend his belt in Sheffield on 17 March however.

Frampton successfully defended his Commonwealth super-bantamweight title against Scotland's Kris Hughes at Bethnell Green in London on Saturday.

If he does not fight in the United States, Frampton could be on the undercard of Kell Brook's fight with Matthew Hatton in Sheffield.
