Carl Frampton stops Prosper Ankrah to retain Commonwealth title
Belfast prospect Carl Frampton retained his Commonwealth super-bantamweight belt by knocking out Prosper Ankrah of Ghana in Sheffield on Saturday night.
Frampton, managed by Barry McGuigan, will now be looking for a shot at a British, European or world title after stopping Ankrah in two rounds.
Possible fights against European king Kiko Martinez and British title holder Scott Quigg have been mooted.
Frampton said he wanted Englishman Quigg to be his next opponent.
"I don't know if he wants it but, if he does, he should tell his promoter," he said after Saturday's fight at the Motorpoint Arerna
Frampton's first defence of the Commonwealth title had been against Scotland's Kris Hughes in January.
