"Either K brother would be a tough fight for any heavyweight in any era."Ali, Foreman, Holmes, Tyson ... the K brothers would get nowhere with any of these. Their competition makes them look good. Sorry mate, but they're awful.
Price and Fury have both got to step up now! If we are basing who has had the harder fights out of the both of them, then it probaly has to go to Fury. I think domestics should be sorted before they go and chase the Klitchkos! Just get ths debate over with! I think everyone has under estimated Fury tho which could be dangerous for Price camp.
#73 Whilst I agree with you about the current crop of heavyweight, the K brothers would not be a particular challenge for any of my top ten HW of all time with the exception of Marciano (size). Personally have VK as a top 15 all time HW with his brother on fringes of top 20.
Cunningham looks like a boxer on the slide. Hes also a blown up cruiser weight. What will this prove? Nothing. We want to see Fury in with some serious opposition like Price or even a shot at one of the Klitschkos this year.
"The Klitschko's are the most boring fighters I have ever seen."The Klitschkos are boring because of the poor crop of heavyweights facing them. Either K brother would be a tough fight for any heavyweight in any era.Price on the other hand has a lot to prove yet. We don't know how good his chin or his stamina is. I hope he makes it though, seems like a good guy.
Alas, the boxing page doesn't allow comments on the main story. Forget Fury (as much I'd like to) and David Price (surely the man on the up) but its the return of Audley "A Force" Harrison I'm looking forward too. Who dared suggest that HW boxing is dull when Audley's still there....dreaming...
Domestically I think the public needs to see a decent HW contest which Fury vs Price could be. HW boxing as 70 states, has been rather dull. The Klitschko's do make the most of their strengths and boxing will see all out attack be WC then very defensive styles be WC. As for Audrey's next event, cashed in on the hype all his pro career!
Boring is now a part of HW boxing. The Klitschko's are the most boring fighters I have ever seen. You can be boring and be world champion.
@65 - Price will make shorter work of Thompson than either of the Klitschko's, future unified world champion.
Tyson Fury is a false profit, every fight of his I have ever seen has been boring, fall asleep boring. He is ducking David Price because Price will turn him into the domestic level fighter he really is.
I keep hearing how fury has only had 20 fights and he's still learning- Lennox lewis 22 fights = world champion. Fury needs to take on some decent guys that have at least been in and lasted with the top names in the division.
Happy both Price and Fury are doing well..good to see some British potential after the comedy show that was (sorry still is) Audley A-Force/Haye/Chisora!. Look forward to the Price vs Fury match up when ever it happens, to be honest think the promoters have got it right, if we wait for a bit, it will be a better fight..personally believe Price is the better fighter, but only takes one punch in HW!
Anyone who thinks Price could beat Fury is out of their mind. Fury has fought a much higher standard of opponent than Price.Price will get found out on Saturday night.
lets face it fury isnt dodging price maybe his handlers are but that fight for both of them is for the future tyson fury can only beat whats in front of him and what do you want for a novice of 20 fights to instantly fight a klitchsko and possibly end his carrer leave him alone and hope he progresses on whenever ive heard him talk he sounds a decent lad
@61 & 62Agreed Cunningham is a decent opponent for Fury, who lets face it by HW standards is still a baby at 24. Cunningham showed against Adamek he carries the weight well and should pose Fury problems. However I think the reach advantage will serve Fury well who will wear him down with Jabs bafore a late KO.Fury has only 20 pro fights and I think he's been well matched so far.
Bad choice of opponent. Cunningham is just coming off a split decision loss to Adamek which has dirty prints all over it, including the first judges decision corrected from a draw to Adamek win. Cunningham was widely regarded as the winner. Fighting Fury he'll be shorter, lighter and older, but unfortunately for Fury, he has actual ability. Fury to be caught out as a hyped up journeyman in 5.
#37 & 40 Fury's last opponent was Kingpin Johnson. Kingpin is a boxer I consider to be far too lazy, but the fact is that he was a legitimate world contender and barely won a round against Fury. Firthai is a gatekeeper to top 15 status, will beat anyone of less than that quality but loses to anyone of top 15 quality.Cunningham is not washed up.
