Katie Taylor has been ruled out of the Irish National Championships which will start in Dublin on Friday evening.
The Olympic lightweight champion was unable to weigh in on Friday morning because of a wrist injury.
Wicklow woman Taylor sustained the injury when winning her fifth successive world title in South Korea in November.
"Would love to have boxed but injured wrist from world championships didn't heal quick enough," tweeted Taylor.
Taylor's fellow Olympic medallists Paddy Barnes and Michael Conlan are also missing the Irish Championships.
Belfast fighters Barnes and Conlan have instead opted to concentrate on their preparations for this year's World Series of Boxing season where they will compete for the Italia Thunder squad.
Ballymena man Stephen Donnelly will also compete in the World Series event for the Hussars of Poland.
