Lee Haskins: Injured bantamweight out of title defence against Shohei Omori
Bristol boxer Lee Haskins has withdrawn from his IBF world bantamweight title defence against Shohei Omori after injuring his leg in training.
The fight had been due to take place in Kyoto, Japan on 31 December.
A statement from Haskins' team said medical reports show he will be fit to resume training in early January.
"I am gutted to have to pull out of this fight, I was looking forward to closing out 2016 with three title defences," Haskins, 33, said.
"We will wait to see if the fight can be re-arranged otherwise I know there are some big fights out there in 2017."
Since being crowned champion in 2015 when Randy Caballero failed to make the weight for their contest, the southpaw has retained his title twice, with wins over Mexico's Ivan Morales in May and Britain's Stuart Hall.
