Britain's Amir Khan is in talks with Manny Pacquiao to be the WBO world welterweight champion's next title challenger, both boxers have said.
Pacquiao's Twitter followers recently voted Khan, 30, as the opponent they would like to see him fight next.
Khan beat fellow Briton Kell Brook, Australia's Jeff Horn and American Terence Crawford with 48% of the vote.
He said on Twitter: "Currently negotiating with Manny #teampacquiao. Coming soon. Watch this space!"
Six-weight world champion Pacquaio, who said his next fight will be in the United Arab Emirates, added: "My team and I are in negotiations with Amir Khan for our next fight. Further announcement coming soon."
The 38-year-old Filipino retired in April, but returned to claim the belt by beating Jessie Vargas in November.

he should take up refereeing, he has had plenty of practice stopping his family and wife fighting with each other in the tabloids.
Shame they're going for over hyped celebrity boxing rather than the best fight which would be Manny v Brook.
Can't see glass chin holding out
I still don't know how he gets these title shots though with his record, if he looses to PAC his loss % will be 15% that's not good!
In reality he's had one fight in two years (losing to Alvarez at middleweight cos Khan was chasing a big pay day) and has held no world title since 2012.
Would rather a kell brook type fighter, less hype, less celebrity, more graft and business.
Khan, on the other hand, has speed but is careless for someone so chinny. He's almost a world class journeyman!
Tired match up, Manny to win, then neither will fight Brook.
