I've been watching, studying and writing about boxing for forty years and this sport is a niche sport. Not a lot of people know much about boxing. Anyone with any real knowledge of the sport will tell you it's about levels. If Bellew (who's at the height of his powers) catches Haye on an off night then the fight could last a few rounds. Otherwise Bellew is blown out in two - easy night for Haye.
Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray, Thomas the Hitman, Marvelous Marvin = BOXING.
@20 -wow, just like haye, you like provoke people into thinking you are a douche bag
Things that Haye has done at heavyweight: pulled out of Wlad fight (back injury), pulled out of Manuel Charr fight (injury, can't remember what it was), blamed his pitiful performance against Wlad on a toe injury, press conference brawl with Chisora, pulled out of Fury fight with cut eye, pulled out of Fury fight with shoulder injury.Bellew's annoying, but Haye is a mockery.Hope Bellew wins.
Bellew is vile.
@ 10 Fred "delusions of celebrity" not sure that is right, Haye is well liked by people, maybe not by some of you donuts that hang on Tyson Fury's every pathetic utterance but he is a likeable character. Bellow is big tub of Northern lard with too much mouth, a bit like that bag head Fury! TB has no chance against Haye and anyone who says otherwise is just a hater.
I think that scouser is a loud mouth fat boy and I know Haye will batter him, end of!!
I was looking forward to this fight, not really knowing if Bellews 200 rounds would see him past Hayes trounce power. Then I had an epiphany that hatred is selling these seats and we as fans are clambering over each other for closer seats, or our house 'kid free' while It's paid to view. These men are idols behaving beyond primal, putrid and foul mouthed. #SadFanSadDay #2MuchHate
I'm missing Tyson Fury - would love to see him get hold of Haye!!!!
The poser could win it early rounds, but as Bellew correctly says, it goes past 4 rounds and Haye is done for...back for the dough , that's it. Bellew in 7 or 8.
To much talking for this fightI hope they both knock each other out
This is an intriguing contest, but for some reason I just can't believe that these two really hate each other THAT much, and I don't quite know why Bellew is stepping up to Heavyweight - where does he go after the inevitable KO?I'll still watch but let's be clear - this is not in the same league as Joshua/Klitchko/Wilder.
Bigging it up, yacht in Miami/training. Taking this ruck seriously? So guess he will come out swinging for ko in 3. Heavier more powerful than Tony B. Fought doorman on return, doubts over latter round stamina/serious surgery. So perhaps Bellew has a slim chance to take Haye deep: Haye will make all the excuses in the world. After ducking Tyson repeatedly and toegate, be great to see TB chin him
Think this ought to be a good fight. Haye is the more natural heavyweight, and the better talent when at his best... but Bellew is a very tough fighter who can't really be ruled out of beating anyone, and who has been more active and competitive of late.I like both these guys and think it will be close, with Haye winning late on if he is in good condition.
It's Haye vs Maccarinelli all over again! Bellew is far too stationary and although Haye is getting on a bit his timing and power is still good. Bellew has been down quite a few times in his career and most of those have been in the 1st round, those knock downs turned out to be a wake up call and he went on to win but I don't think he'll be getting up from Hayes big right hand. Haye wins in 2!
