Brook's been one of our best boxers for a few years now so it saddens me to say that maybe he should call retire. He's broken both of his cheekbones in last 2 fights against big hitters; no matter how well surgery goes this time there will always be weak spots ready to break again. Would be terrible to see Brook losing again to boxers he'd beat but for broken cheekbones - arguably already happened
Moving up to fight GGG is starting to look like a terrible business decision that might end his career as a big money fighter. If his eye socket is being destroyed now at Welter also, how is moving up in weight going to help that? Should imho stay at Welter and fight Khan next summer. He can either look at a Spence rematch after that or wait to see if Crawford moves up.
Bellew needs to calm down and think before he speaks. If you watch his fight with Adonis Srevenson, Bellew takes a couple of solid hits in round 5 and 6 and literally cowers in the corner looking shellshoked and afraid. Take a look, it is there for all to see. He called Stevenson a 'dwarf' before that fight and got chinned easy. He is becoming an embarrassment.
Get Bellew a real heavyweight fight and lets see if he quits, rentagob moron.
IF Brook decides to carry on then the only option should be to move up to light middleweight. He lacked the power at welterweight he once had, possibly due to fatigue, and the welterweight division is now owned by Spence. Brook fought well up to R7 but eye socket or not I think Spence would have won. Also, why didn't the ringside doctor pull Brook out? Anyone could see he'd broken his eye socket.
You have to hand it to Spence. He broke Kells spirit by out fighting him (as well as the injury). The division is the toughest in boxing and Spence looks like the King of it. For Brook its time for a last hurrah against Khan and then get out healthy.
I'm not anti boxing but he should stop now. Being blind as well as a cabbage from taking too many head shots is not worth it. Hopefully he's made enough money and can call it a day but I fear he might be tempted back.
Kell is a brave man, but you have to seriously question his management team for making him move up 2 weight divisions to fight Golovkin & then move back down very quickly to fight Spence.I think a one-eyed Kell would still be able to shatter Khan's glass jaw though.
@2. No dole money to collect today huh?
