Guernsey runner Sarah Mercier says the atmosphere at Glasgow 2014 inspired her to break two island records.
The 23-year-old ran 16 mins 31.05 secs in the 5000m final on Saturday, taking almost 15 seconds off her personal best as she finished in 15th place behind Kenya's Mercey Cherono.
Four days earlier, she clocking 4 mins 24.05.
"It really motivates you and encourages you to perform at your best," Mercier told BBC Radio Guernsey.
"The crowd was brilliant, you can hear them the whole way round and the atmosphere spurs you on regardless of whether you're on your own or with other people.
"It's completely different from what you imagine, the noise when I walked into the stadium was crazy."
Mercier admitted she had not expected to run her best times in both events.
"I was really hoping I'd run a personal best in the 5000m, I didn't expect to do one in both or break the island record in both, so I'm very surprised," she said.
"Being part of Team Guernsey has been amazing, everyone's been so supportive of one another."
