Derbyshire head of cricket John Morris is convinced the short-term signing of Yorkshire off-spinner Azeem Rafiq will be an excellent move for all concerned.
The 20-year-old ex-England U-19s international has joined on loan for a month and made his debut in the CB40 game against the Netherlands on Monday.
Morris said: "Azim is a talented cricketer who gives us another option.
"Opportunities to play have been limited, but now he has the opportunity to compete for a place at Derbyshire."
Rafiq has played seven first-class matches for Yorkshire and a further 17 appearances in limited-overs cricket, as well as 28 matches for England Under-19s.
