Leicestershire are in talks to sign India all-rounder Irfan Pathan for their Twenty20 campaign, reports BBC Radio Leicester.
Leicestershire head coach Phil Whitticase said talks were ongoing and the club were confident of sealing a deal for the 26-year-old.
"We are in the process of discussing terms with him," Whitticase confirmed.
"That could be the stumbling block but at this stage I'd say I'm 70-30 confident he will be here."
Pathan has been a key player for Dehli Daredevils in the Indian Premier League in recent weeks, where he has been a team-mate of Leicestershire's Andrew McDonald.
Whitticase has no doubts about Pathan's credentials.
"He's a high quality, left-arm seamer who offers aggressive options with the bat and can bat anywhere," Whitticase added.
"He has played a lot of international cricket.
"His stats are very good, he averages 31 in Test cricket, 28 in ODIs - of which he has played 108 - so he has vast experience and we feel he is the type of person who could come in and make a contribution to our T20 campaign."
