|Worcestershire (135-3) beat Northants (134-9) by seven wickets|
Solid batting from Moeen Ali and Alexei Kervezee saw Worcestershire ease to their first win of the t20 season against Northants at New Road.
Alex Wakely was the only Northants batsman to make an impact on the game, his 62 helping the visitors to 134-9.
Jack Shantry's tight spell of 3-12 from three overs set the tone for the home side's attack.
In reply Ali (53) and Kervezee (44no) ensured Worcestershire reached their target with relative comfort.
Going into the game at New Road Vikram Solanki's side had suffered two narrow defeats and a wash-out from their opening three games.
But with Shaqib Al Hasan, Shaiq Chowdry and Ali all turning in economical four-over stints the visitors struggled to set a competitive total.
There was a wobble in the 15th over of Worcestershire's innings when Johan Botha claimed two wickets in two balls.
But Gareth Andrew's quickfire 21 from 15 balls steadied the ship and helped the home side cross the finishing line with two overs to spare.
Northamptonshire batsman Alex Wakely told BBC Radio Northampton:"I felt good but it's a shame with the result. We keep threatening in the Twenty20 and not coming through it.
"We've got to try to remember we're at the top of table in all other forms of the game. It's not quite happening in T20 at the moment.
"In T20, the start is crucial, and we haven't had the best starts so you're always chasing the game. We had a few more partnerships last year, as well."
