Murray Goodwin hit 48 runs as Sussex gained revenge over Middlesex with a 49-run victory to move to the top of the Friends Life t20 South Group.
Sussex reached 165-8 before dismissing the hosts for just 116 despite Scott Newman's best efforts, as he made 44.
Left-arm seamer Chris Liddle (4-20) took the last three wickets to ensure the visitors moved above Hampshire.
Middlesex's only win in this season's competition was a five-wicket victory at Hove on 10 June.
Sussex slumped to 2-2 in the second over before a 69-run stand off 39 balls from Luke Wright (34) and Lou Vincent (44) revived their innings.
Liddle may have missed out on a hat-trick but he still swiftly finished off the hosts, claiming the last three wickets in just five balls.
Middlesex batsman Chris Rodgers was unable to bat after suffering a hand injury.
POST-MATCH REACTION
Middlesex captain Neil Dexter told BBC Sport:
"In the field we had them a few wickets down with not many runs but didn't capitalise on that.
"We were in a good position and then Vincent and Goodwin played good innings.
"At the end of the day they outplayed us in all departments. "
