Kent beat Middlesex by nine runs in a remarkable low-scoring match in the South Group at Canterbury.
The hosts slumped to 21-6, the top five all being dismissed for single-figure scores as Anthony Ireland (3-7) and Steven Crook (3-21) did the damage.
James Tredwell (34no) and Geraint Jones (27) helped the hosts recover to 115-9.
And Middlesex, who have had just one FL t20 win this season, could manage only 106-7 in reply, Azhar Mahmood taking 3-14 and spinner Tredwell 2-14.
Crooks' 19-ball unbeaten 23 gave the visitors a slim chance going into the final over, after Dawid Malan had earlier made 22.
